১Agreement to Terms & Institutional Overview (শর্তাবলীর গ্রহণযোগ্যতা)

By browsing this website, submitting an admission application, or enrolling in any course conducted by Bangladesh Film Institute (BFI), you enter into a legally binding contractual agreement subject to the laws of Bangladesh, including the Contract Act, 1872, the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, the Copyright Act, 2023, and the Cyber Security Act, 2023.

২Course Admission & Eligibility (ভর্তি ও যোগ্যতা)

1. Eligibility: Admission is open to aspiring filmmakers, cinema enthusiasts, students, and professionals interested in serious, art-driven cinema. Applicants must provide truthful and accurate information on registration forms.

2. Admission Discretion: To preserve academic quality, mentoring depth, and interactive classroom discussions, class seats are strictly capped per batch. BFI reserves the right to review applications and accept admissions on merit and suitability.

৩Course Fees & Payment Terms (কোর্স ফি ও পেমেন্ট পদ্ধতি)

1. Currency & Fee Schedule: All course fees are stated in Bangladeshi Taka (BDT). For the flagship Online Film Making Course, the fee structure is divided into two phases (e.g., Phase 1 Online Classes: BDT 4,000; Phase 2 Practical Construction: BDT 4,000), or as officially published for specific batches.

2. Payment Channels: Payments must be executed exclusively through authorized institutional channels:

• Direct Bank Transfer: Authorized institutional bank accounts provided upon request.

3. Enrollment Confirmation: Enrollment is confirmed only after our accounts department verifies the Mobile Financial Service Transaction ID (TrxID) or bank deposit slip.

৪Withdrawal, Refund, & Cancellation Policy (রিফান্ড ও বাতিল নীতিমালা)

In compliance with the Consumer Rights Protection Act, 2009, our refund rules are transparently defined:

• Cancellation Prior to Course Commencement: If an enrolled student notifies BFI in writing at least 7 calendar days before the opening class (1st class), the fee will be refunded after deducting a 10% administrative processing fee within 21 working days.
• Non-Refundable After Course Start: Once live lectures commence or course study packets/Zoom credentials have been issued, fees are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable to any other person or subsequent batch, because cohort seat quotas are irrevocably committed.
• Course Cancellation by BFI: In the rare circumstance that BFI cancels or indefinitely postpones a course batch, enrolled students will receive a 100% full refund or guaranteed seat rollover to the subsequent batch, at the student’s discretion.

৫Online Class Participation Rules & Conduct (অন-লাইন ক্লাসে অংশগ্রহণের নিয়মাবলী)

অন-লাইন ক্লাসে অংশগ্রহণের প্রাতিষ্ঠানিক নিয়মাবলী (Official BFI Participation Rules):

• ১. সময়ানুবর্তিতা: ক্লাস শুরু হওয়ার দশ মিনিট (১০ মিনিট) আগে অন-লাইন সংযোগ গ্রহণ করতে হবে।
• ২. জুম অ্যাপ ইনস্টলেশন: জুম (Zoom) অ্যাপের মাধ্যমে ক্লাসগুলো হবে। তাই শিক্ষার্থীদের স্ব-স্ব ডিভাইসে পূর্বেই জুম অ্যাপটি ডাউনলোড ও আপডেট করে রাখা বাঞ্ছনীয়।
• ৩. জুম লিংক বিতরণ: প্রতিটি ক্লাসের পূর্বেই ক্লাসের জুম লিঙ্ক ছাত্র-ছাত্রীদেরকে তাদের রেজিস্ট্রীকৃত ই-মেইল ও অফিসিয়াল মেসেঞ্জার/হোয়াটসঅ্যাপ গ্রুপে পাঠানো হবে।
• ৪. রেজিস্ট্রীকৃত নাম ও ই-মেইলে সংযোগ: জুমে সংযোগ নিতে হবে ফিল্ম ইন্সটিটিউটে আপনার রেজিস্ট্রেশনকৃত ই-মেইল ও নাম অনুযায়ী। অন্য কোনো ই-মেইল, ডিভাইস আইডি বা ছদ্মনাম ব্যবহার করা হলে তা গ্রহণযোগ্য হবে না এবং আপনি স্বয়ংক্রিয়ভাবে অনুপস্থিত হিসেবে গণ্য হবেন।
• ৫. ৮০% উপস্থিতি বাধ্যতামূলক: প্রতি ক্লাসে উপস্থিতি বাধ্যতামূলক। ন্যূনতম ৮০% সংখ্যক ক্লাসে উপস্থিত না থাকলে চূড়ান্ত পরীক্ষায় অংশগ্রহণ করা যাবে না এবং কোনো সনদপত্র প্রদান করা হবে না।
• ৬. বিষয়ভিত্তিক প্রশ্নোত্তর: যেহেতু ক্লাসের সময় খুব মূল্যবান, তাই প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্বে সম্মানিত শিক্ষককে কেবলমাত্র পাঠ্য বিষয়ভিত্তিক প্রশ্ন করবেন।

৬Intellectual Property & Anti-Piracy Policy (কপিরাইট আইন ও পাইরেসি রোধ)

Prohibited Conduct: Students and visitors are strictly prohibited from:

• Screen-recording, capturing, or audio-recording live Zoom lectures without prior written consent.
• Uploading course materials or video recordings to YouTube, Facebook, Google Drive, torrent trackers, or file-sharing portals.
• Commercial resale, reproduction, or public broadcasting of any course content.

Legal Action: Any unauthorized reproduction or digital distribution constitutes a criminal offense under Sections 82–84 of the Copyright Act, 2023 and Sections 26 & 28 of the Cyber Security Act, 2023, and will result in immediate course termination, revocation of certificate, and formal criminal prosecution in the courts of Dhaka.

৭Student Film Ownership & Rights (শিক্ষার্থীদের চলচ্চিত্রের স্বত্বাধিকার)

Institutional Rights: By completing projects under BFI mentorship, students grant BFI a non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free license to screen student films at institute-organized showcases, retrospective festivals, educational exhibitions, and archival retrospectives, with full directorial credit always preserved for the student director.

৮Attendance & Certification (উপস্থিতি ও সনদপত্র প্রদান)

To qualify for the prestigious Bangladesh Film Institute Certificate of Completion, students must maintain a mandatory minimum attendance rate of 80% in classes, appear for assessments, and actively participate in film construction assignments. Certificates will not be awarded to students who fail to meet this mandatory 80% attendance threshold.

৯Technical Disclaimers & Rescheduling (প্রযুক্তিগত বিভ্রাট ও ক্লাস পুনর্নির্ধারণ)

1. Personal Connectivity: Students are responsible for maintaining a stable internet connection and compatible device (computer/smartphone) for attending classes.

2. Force Majeure & Rescheduling: In the event of unavoidable disruptions (e.g., severe power outages/load shedding, national internet outages, political hartal/strikes, or instructor illness), BFI will reschedule classes at the earliest suitable alternative date.

১০Governing Law & Jurisdiction (আইনি এখতিয়ার)

These Terms of Service are governed solely by and construed in accordance with the laws of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. Any disputes, controversies, or legal claims arising out of or in connection with these terms or course participation shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Dhaka, Bangladesh.
